Ruth Farrell

Associate Director

The Rev. Ruth Farrell is the associate director of the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center, which she joined in September 2024. She is an ordained minister with standing in the United Church of Christ. Throughout her two decades in ministry, Rev. Farrell has specialized in leading churches and non-profits through seasons of change, conflict, and revitalization.


Rev. Farrell is passionate about the intersection of mental and spiritual health. More specifically, she is interested in the impact of individual’s mental health on the overall health of congregations. She is also dedicated to helping churches become trauma-informed communities. 



To support her ministry, Rev. Farrell has completed many trainings including: Skills for Psychological Recovery, Spiritual First Aid Certificate Course, Healthy Congregations Facilitator Training, Mediation Skills Training Institute, Tragedies in Schools, Anti Racism Training, and Prepare-Enrich Facilitator Training. Rev. Farrell is also a Level 1 & 2 Gottman Method Couples counselor. 

Rev. Farrell earned her Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is currently a student in the Master of Pastoral Counseling program at Loyola University Chicago. She completed undergraduate studies at Wheaton College (IL) where she majored in English and Music.
