Clergy Clinic: Intro to Family Systems

Clergy leaders today face increasing challenges and difficulties in the churches they serve.

Anxiety is increasing in the country, polarization over beliefs has been on the rise, and more than ever people need a steady presence from their leaders.

In this training, you will learn concepts such as self-differentiation, generational anxiety, fit and belonging, and how to become a solid self.

Highlights of this training includes:

  • Family of Origin Groups where you will create your own family diagram.
  • Learning practical tips about differentiation.
  • Hear case study examples to discover theories in practice.
  • Establishing a peacebuilding community with which you can share experiences.

The required reading for this course will be Bowen Family Systems Theory in Christian Ministry by Jenny Brown and Lauren Errington and A Family Genogram Workbook by Elaine BoomerDon ReaganIsrael Galindo.

The training will follow this schedule:

  • Monday 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday through Thursday 9:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The cost for the week is $980 which includes the training itself and any course handouts. If in-person, accommodation, transportation, and meals will be the responsibility of the attendee.
