LMPC welcomes a new Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that Jay Wittmeyer will assume the responsibilities of Executive Director for the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center on January 15, 2020. He will be leaving his current position as Executive Director of Global Mission and Service with the Church of the Brethren, which is headquartered in Elgin, IL. His primary responsibilities there involved the supervision of staff members in Brethren Disaster Ministries and Material Resources, Brethren Volunteer Service, the Global Food Initiative, and the Office of Peacebuilding and Policy. During the 11 years that he spent at this position, Mr. Wittmeyer also traveled frequently around the globe, working with both new and established churches on several continents. Among the countries in which he has worked to promote peace and the Good News of Christ are Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Rwanda, Nigeria, Venezuela, Brazil, India, and North Korea. Mr. Wittmeyer previously served as the Assistant Director for the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center from 2004-2006, and we are happy to welcome him “back home”!
